My
passion for photography came from my love of being out in nature, seeing
what is around the next bend or hill, and capturing those wonderful
memories and experiences as I see them in the moment.
Though the first part of my life was not focused on art, at age 11 I
did purchased my first camera for three dollars and my sister Meg bought
me my first roll of film! The camera melted a few weeks later and I
didn’t take pictures again for quite a while.
In 1989, while living in Santa Cruz, California, I started both
paragliding and taking photos again on a regular basis. My first cameras
had to be throwaways as my crashes were many and often. As my flying
skills improved, so did the quality of my camera. I have enjoyed taking
photos while sky diving, wind surfing, sailing, sea kayaking, mountain
biking and hiking.
I now live in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where I
am able to find beautiful images right outside my back door.
Being dyslexic, I think in pictures so it is natural for me to be drawn
to photography. My photos are very intuitive and when I am at home
reviewing the photos, I am often amazed at what my subconscious
perceived.
Now, you can enjoy the places I have seen without the blisters,
sunburn, bug bites, getting lost, or having your car break down in the
middle of nowhere. I believe my photos reflect the magic of the moment
and there are plenty of “and there I was” stories to go with them. Just
call me with your order and I will gladly share.
Enjoy!
